New web app expands the mobile app’s reach to make Kalinga Health’s services more accessible to a wider, desktop or laptop-using audience.

SYDNEY, NSW 09 SEPTEMBER 2019

Kalinga Health, creator of the Kalinga app, launched the web version of its innovative home health care app today. The original Kalinga mobile app, available for both iOS and Android devices, was the brainchild of experienced healthcare providers that aims to make it easier for individuals looking for in-home carers for them or for their family members connect with experienced nurses, nurse assistants or companions. It’s also meant to help caregivers offer their services to prospective patients. The new web app maintains these two main goals but expands the app’s reach to people who use desktop or laptop computers.

As the new web app is a browser-friendly build of the Kalinga mobile app, it’s responsive and optimised for viewing on any of the most popular browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Microsoft Edge. This also means that those with mobile devices but don’t have space for additional apps can just access the Kalinga app database via their phone or tablet’s browser.

Optimisations aside, the web-based platform maintains the same features that made the mobile version so innovative and reliable for its two user bases, the Clients and the Carers.

For Clients, who are the patients or the family members transacting on the Kalinga platform, they are able to post about their need for a caregiver according to their own schedule, location and budget. They can also specify their needs in terms of hourly rates, credentials, languages spoken, and service reviews and ratings on the Kalinga platform, and then look for a match among filtered results.

Among its other features are also a geolocation function for finding nearby carers, a secure payment system, a messaging system for ironing out job details, public liability, property damage, and personal injury insurance, and a database of nurses and carers who have been strictly vetted through an exacting screening and approval process.

On the other hand, Carers can search for job opportunities according to their availability, hourly rate, and job location. They can apply for jobs based on their abilities and credentials, and have similar protections as Clients with public liability, property damage, and personal injury assistance.

Carers will also likely enjoy the fact that using the Kalinga platform – whether on the mobile or web app, means they won’t have to pay high agency commissions or administration fees. This will allow them to take home more of their hard-earned money.

According to Dr. Frenn Aben, CEO of Kalinga Health, the web app was developed to help more people around Australia access the genuine care services that their mobile app users are already experiencing. He believes even more people should experience the freedom Kalinga offers -“the freedom for the clients to have the best quality of life despite their disabilities and physical limitations. Freedom for care providers to do the jobs that they want, and be better-compensated at the same time. Kalinga gives me the freedom and opportunity to improve our health care system at a grander scale.”

The Kalinga Health web app can be accessed here. The mobile app can also still be downloaded for iOS or Android devices.
